Stories to Light the Night – Online Launch Event Now Available to Watch on YouTube

We were delighted that so many of you came along to celebrate the launch of Susan Perrow’s latest book, Stories to Light the Night: A grief and loss collection for children, families and communities.

We had viewers from Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Sri Lanka, Norway, Taiwan, Saint Petersburg, Canada and Australia as well as closer to home in Gloucestershire, UK. You can watch the recording of the launch here, including contributions from Alida Gersie Ph.D., respected storyteller and author of Storytelling for a Greener World and Yvonne Donohoe, author of Soul Stripped Bare. Our own Martin Large is asking the questions.

Stories to Light the Night includes stories to help children deal with the loss of a loved one, parent or friend as well as the loss of a cherished pet. Susan Perrow also includes practical projects to do with children that can be worked on while talking things through. There is a chapter about ecocide and grieving the loss of nature, and a chapter about dealing with the existential threat of climate change and the human movement that this is causing. Alida Gersie says, ‘With the environmental crisis happening, displacement is something we will not only know from reading but also from experience.’

Stories to Light the Night: A grief and loss collection for children, families and communities is available to buy with free postage worldwide until the end of March 2021.
