I have just returned from a five week trip to China where I was busy in four cities with book launches and therapeutic writing workshops
My third collection of children’s stories has just been released in Mandarin and the Beijing publisher surprised me with a box set of all three books. This third collection is markedly different from the previous two as almost every story in the 55 story collection has been illustrated by a wonderful Beijing artist called Wenlu.
Earlier this year, after the explosion in Tianjin, word apparently went round some schools in this city that some of my stories help children with anxieties, and there was an order in one week for 3000 books from ‘danddang.com‘, the biggest online book seller in China.
On my return I have had a meeting with Katie Grubb (www.mandarinpathways.com) and we will be co-ordinating some story work together for her next group of Chinese students who will be visiting the Byron Shire in February 2016.
