In his stories about old Pettson and his cat Findus, Sven Nordqvist conjures up a world of invention and movement. From fishing and gardening to making pancakes and jumping on beds, there’s always something to do.
And now, in his new book Findus and Pettson Build a Car, Nordqvist has built practical tricks into the book itself so that you, the reader, can join in!
“Is this a book or a toy? Probably both.”
Dagens Nyheter, Sweden
On each page you can open doors, pull tabs or turn wheels to make things happen. Coffee pours into cups, the hammer swings up and down, the pedal car zooms. Pettson jumps in surprise as Findus whizzes by. Other unexpected things appear (no spoilers here).
Although Findus and Pettson Build a Car is ideal for toddlers and their grown-ups, it’s fun for all ages. It offers its own little world in which the youngest (and older, more fumble-fingered readers) can practise their motor skills and figure out how everything works.
Sven Nordqvist’s latest creation will be published in September 2025. However, a number of early copies may be available as early as July, so stay tuned for updates.
