Magic ball of wool

Magic ball of wool

This is a most original present, especially loved by children who enjoy knitting. The idea is that as the child knits, little presents appear and fall out of the ball of wool.

It is best made from double knitting wool (choose a nice colour!). The little presents should, whenever possible, be chosen to suit the age, taste and interests of the child. The presents can either be wrapped up in nice paper or just used as they are.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • One ball of double knitting wool
  • Lots of little bits and pieces such as: precious stones, hairclips, necklaces, tiny toys, bells, shells, coins, shiny buttons, sweets (chocolate may melt), flower seeds, little candles, ribbons, bits of lace, charms, crayons, sellotape roll, notepad, spinning top, yo-yo, beads, tiny animals make from clay or wood, little soaps, etc. Use your imagination!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Start by putting the most special or precious present in the middle of the ball. Wrap the wool around it and keep adding more presents as you wind the wool into a magic ball.
